Incoloy alloy 825 - Stops Stress-Corrosion Cracking


Incoloy alloy 825 is a nickel-iron-chromium alloy with copper, titanium and molybdenum added. There is ample nickel content for resistance to chloride-ion stress-corrosion cracking. The nickel, combined with molybdenum and copper, also results in great resistance to reducing environments such as the ones consisting of phosphoric and sulfuric acids. It is used in applications like acid production and nuclear fuel reprocessing. The molybdenum also aids resistance to crevice corrosion and pitting. It is also used in applications like pollution control, pickling operations and oil and gas recovery.
