Nimonic Alloy 80A

Nimonic alloy 80a - Used for Nuclear Applications

Nimonic alloy 80a is a wrought, nickel-chromium alloy that is made stronger with the incorporation of carbon, titanium and aluminium. For forms to be forced out, it is developed by high-frequency melting and casting in air. Nimonic alloy 80a is used for applications like die casting inserts and cores, automobile exhaust valves and bolts. If Nimonic alloy 80a suppliers and Nimonic alloy 80a manufacturers are hard to come by, Supreme Engineering Limited is at your disposal.

Electroslag refined material is used for forms to be forged. Even vacuum refined versions are offered. It is also resistant to corrosion and oxidation. And the creep rupture and tensile properties are high. This alloy is renowned for its high temperature low-creep and high performance. It is also used for gas turbine components and tube supports in nuclear steam generators.

Features of Nimonic alloy 80a:

  • Commonly replaced by Nimonic 90 and Inconel X-750.
  • Thanks to low cobalt content, it is specified for nuclear applications.
  • Used for high temperature dynamic applications.
  • Gets hard with age.

The various forms of Nimonic alloy 80a are covered by the following standards:
